WALK-IN-INTERVIEW

ENGAGEMENT OF MARINE ENGINEER ON CONTRACT BASIS

Paradip Port Trust intends to engage Marine Engineer on contract basis on the following terms & conditions:

1) Qualification:

Must hold certificate of competency as MEO (Class-II) issued by Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India or equivalent qualification recognized by Ministry of Shipping, Govt. of India

OR

Must hold certificate of MEO (Class-IV) issued by Ministry of Shipping, Government of India or equivalent qualification recognized by Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.

OR

Certificate of Inland Marine Engineer issued as per IV Act by any State Government/ MMD/ DG Shipping.

2) Experience:

One year experience for candidates having MEO (Class-II), Three years experience for candidates having MEO (Class-IV) and Five years experience for candidates having IME Certificate of competencies on vessels trading under MS./ River Sea/ IV Acts.

3) Age: 50 years as on 28.02.2011 subject to physical fitness. (Must be medically fit to work on Port Crafts)


About Paradip Port Trust 
The Port of Paradip, an autonomous body under the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 functioning under Ministry of Shipping Road transport and highways is administered by a Board of Trustees set up by the Government of India headed by the Chairman, PPT. The trustees are nominated by Government of India from various users of the Port such as shippers, ship owners; Government Departments concerned and also labour. The day - to - day administration is carried out under general supervision and control of the Chairman, assisted by the Deputy Chairman and other departmental heads.

Government of India took over the management of the Port from the State Government on 1st june, 1965. The construction of the Iron Ore Berth was completed and INS "INVESTIGATOR" had the privilege of maiden berthing in the Port on the 12th March, 1966. The Port was declared open by Mr. Peter Stambolic, Prime Minister of Yugoslavia on the same day. Government of India declared Paradip as the Eighth Major Port of India on 18-04-1966 making it the FIRST MAJOR PORT in the East Coast commissioned in INDEPENDENT INDIA.
