Delhi Flying Club was established in May 1928 with the aim of training young men & women as aviators in India. Since then it has had the distinction of training hundreds of Pilots & Engineers: prominent amongst the alumni being Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi, Former Prime Minister of India and Late Shri Biju Patnaik, Former Chief Minister of Orissa. Delhi Flying Club initiated the first air mail service of the country and also is accredited with the training of Airforce Pilots in the 60s and the Naval Pilots in the 80s. It also participated in both the wars with Pakistan i.e. 1965, 1971. Currently the club runs an AME School whose alumni occupy very prominent positions in the Airlines across the globe and also undertakes the ground classes for Pilot’s Licenses like PPL, CPL & ATPL. The club undertakes maintenance of VIP aircraft of State Governments of Haryana. It has duly approved Engine shop where overhauls of Lycoming and Continental Engines are undertaken. It also has an Instrument Workshop for undertaking bench checks of Instrument & an approved NDT shop.

The Club presently has two serviceable Cessna 152 aircraft, but is unable to fly as the flying activity at Safdarjung was stopped some seven years ago because of security considerations. The efforts are on to re-commence flying activities as a joint venture with Chimes Aviation Academy Pvt. Ltd at Dhana Airfield, Sagar (M.P).

About CDFD


The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) is an autonomous organization funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. CDFD receives funding also from other agencies on specific collaborative projects.

In addition, DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics services provided by the centre support some of the activities. The Centre is recognized by the University of Hyderabad for pursuing Ph.D. programme in Life Sciences. The centre is equipped with world class state-of-the-art instrumentation and computing infrastructure to facilitate working in frontier areas of research in Life Sciences. There are presently around fifteen groups working on diverse research areas and the centre continues to attract leaders in related disciplines. CDFD is supported with a strong Bioinformatics facility and is the India node of the European Molecular Biology Network (EMBnet).

Bharat Electronics Limited is an electronics company with about nine factories, and few regional offices in India. The Delhi Development Authority was created in 1955 under the provisions of the Delhi Development Act "to promote and secure the development of Delhi".
Delhi became the focus of government activity in 1911 when the British shifted the capital from Kolkata (Calcutta) to Delhi. The initial location proposed for the capital was to the north of the Northern Ridge. It was later changed to the present location around Raisina Hills. Renowned town planners Edward Lutyens and Herbert Baker planned the city of New Delhi in the year 1912. In 1922 a tiny Nazul Office, comprising of 10 to 12 officials, was set up in the Collectorate of Delhi, the first authority to regulate the planned development of the city. In 1937, the Nazul office was upgraded to an Improvement Trust, constituted under the provisions of the United Provinces Improvement Act, 1911, to control building operations and regulate land usage.

In all, there are 19 (nineteen) RRBs, which cater to the respective zonal staffing requirements. Based on the Indents received, Employment Notifications are released in Employment News ( A publication of the Government of India) and Indicative advertisements in other News Papers .

There are generally two Notifications in a year by each RRB.

In order to ensure uniformity through out the RRBs, there is a standard format for application.

The applications received are scrutinized for different eligibility criteria and a list of eligible candidates is drawn. Thereafter, examination date and centre is fixed and call letters are dispatched to eligible candidates one month in advance of the date of examination. Simultaneously the rejected applications data is published in the website for information of in-eligible candidates.

The examinations may be single stage, two stages, single stage written exam followed by skill test/aptitude test/interview depending on the nature of the posts advertised.

Candidates qualified in all stages of the examination are finally called for document verification, wherein, all the records are verified and checked with original documents.

Purvanchal, the north eastern region of Uttar Pradesh and the divine land of Lord Buddha, Kabir and Gorakhnath, witnessed an important event on 12 th September 2005. Exercising the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 23A of RRB Act 1976, the Government of India, by its notification in the Official Gazette, for the first time provided for the amalgamation of two well established and good profit making RRB's i.e., Gorakhpur Kshetriya Gramin Bank and Basti Gramin Bank, into one Purvanchal Gramin Bank.

History of the area dates back to the epic age as the capital city of Kushinagar was established by Kusha, the son of Lord Rama. The area was parcelled out into tiny tribals republic of Mallas, Sakyas, Koliyas, Mauryas & Guptas. During the Gupta dynasty the socio cultural realm of the region reached the zenith of its glory. During 19th Century, Gorakhpur and adjoining areas were ceded to NAWAB of Awadh which further went to East India Company. In 1865 the district of Gorakhpur came into existence and later on famous Guru Gorakhshnath, alongwith Sufi Sant Jabbarshah, Sant Kabir and famous Hindi writer Acharya Ram Chandra Shukla and Urdu Poet Raghupati Sahay 'Firaque Gorakhpuri’ have added further to the glory of the region.

The first 150 years were marked mostly by turbulent economic conditions. It witnessed, India's First War of Independence, adverse effects of the World War I and World War II on the economy of India, and in between them the period of world wide economic crises triggered by the Great depression. The first half of the 20th century also saw a heightened struggle for India's independence. Mathura refinery was commissioned in 1982 as the sixth refinery in the fold of IndianOil and with an original capacity of 6.0 MMTPA. Located strategically between the historic cities of Delhi and Agra, the Refinery at Mathura is situated in the mythical and mystical land of Lord Krishna. Later the capacity of Mathura refinery was increased to 7.5 MMTPA by systematically debottlenecking and revamping. With its Fluid Catalytic Cracking Units (FCCU), the refinery mainly produces middle distillates for Northern India supplied though a 760km long product pipeline to Jalandhar in Punjab via Delhi (MJPL) and 100km long Mathura Tundla Pipeline (MTPL). A Vis-breaking unit was commissioned in 1982 and Soaker drum technology was implemented in VBU in the year 1993. The two-stage desalter was commissioned in 1998 in order to improve the on-stream availability of the crude distillation unit. In the same year new Continuous Catalytic Reformer Unit (CCRU) for production of unleaded gasoline was added.

Food Corporation of India was setup on 14th January 1965 under Food Corporation Act 1964 with authorised capital of almost $600 million[1]  to implement the national policy for price support operations, procurement, storage, preservation, inter-state movement and distribution operations.

It operates through 5 zonal offices and a regional office in Delhi. Each year, the Food Corporation purchases roughly 15-20 per cent of India's wheat output and 12-15 per cent of its rice output. The losses suffered by FCI are reimbursed by the Union government, to avoid capital erosion, and thus declared as a subsidy in the annual budget. In 2007, such food subsidies were met by government bonds worth almost $8 billion.

The first Board set up in India was the Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education in 1921, which was under jurisdiction of Rajputana, Central India and Gwalior. In 1929 the government of India set up a joint Board named "Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana". This included Ajmer, Merwara, Central India and Gwalior.

Later it was confined to Ajmer, Bhopal and Vindhya Pradesh. In 1952, it became the "Central Board of Secondary Education".

CBSE affiliates all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, all Kendriya Vidyalayas, private schools, all the schools in the NCT of Delhi and Foreign Schools.

The board conducts final examinations every spring: the All India Secondary School Examination (AISSE) for class 10 and All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) for class 12. The board also annually conducts the AIEEE exam for admission to undergraduate courses in engineering and architecture in numerous colleges spread over India.

The Border Security Force (BSF) is a border patrol agency of the Government of India. The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council was established to regulate the higher secondary education system of the state of Assam. The council was accepted by the act of the government of Assam. The Higher Secondary Education Act was accepted by the Honorable Governor of the state on the 16th of April in the year 1984 and the council started functioning from the 1st of June of the same year.

The council is in charge of the supervision and development of the system of education in the higher secondary level in the state of Assam. The different schools of the state who impart higher secondary education were incorporated in the council. The council was vested with powers of prescribing the academic curriculum for the higher secondary classes in the schools and college imparting education at that level. The council also has the powers to conduct examination to award the certificate at the higher secondary.
