Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, IIRS, Dehradun invites application for the following posts:Positions:
1) Junior Research Fellows (JRF)
(A) IGBP Project (Code : 896-17) : Sea Level rise and salt water ingress (Climate Change Project):
Total Number of posts: 01
Scale of Pay : Rs. 16,000/- per month for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 18,000/- per month for 3rd year + HRA @20% + Medical as per rule.
Duration : Initially for a period of two years as JRF and then for a period of One year as SRF subject to satisfactory performance before the review committee.
Age Limit : Age should not be more than 30 years as on the last date of receipt of application. Age relaxation to SC/ST/OBC/PWB will be admissible as per rules.
2) Junior Research Fellows (JRF)
(B) Aerosol Radiative Forcing over India under ISRO-GBP(PC:8046) Project.
Total Number of posts: 01
Scale of Pay : Rs. 16,000/- per month for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 18,000/- per month for 3rd year + HRA @20% + Medical as per rule.
Age Limit : Age should not be more than 30 years as on the last date of receipt of application. Age relaxation to SC/ST/OBC/PWB will be admissible as per rules.
3) Junior Research Fellows (JRF)
(C) ISRO-GBP Project on LULC Dynamics at IIRS Dehradun.
Total Number of posts: 01
Scale of Pay : Rs. 16,000/- per month for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 18,000/- per month for 3rd year + HRA @20% + Medical as per rule.

About Indian Institute of Remote Sensing
The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing is the training and education arm of the Indian Department of Space. Located in Dehradun, the institute offers a variety of courses in Remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), ranging in length from one week to two years.
Although formerly known as the Indian Photo-Interpretation Institute (IPI), the IIRS was set up in 1966 under the patronage of the Survey of India to provide hands-on training of emerging remote sensing technology. The success of satellite remote sensing in early 1970s created a need for personnel trained in the utilization of remote sensing technology. The IIRS was then merged with the National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA) in July 1976. The next decade saw the emergence of remote sensing as a powerful tool for natural resource survey and management, and in 1980 the NRSA was put under the umbrella of the Indian Government's Department of Space.
