Combined Medical Services Examination, 2011
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will hold the Combined Medical Services Examination, 2010 on 16th January, 2011. The examination will be held at various centres across the country.
LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS:
a) Online: The Online Application can be filled upto 4th October, 2010 till 11.59 PM after which the link disabled.
b) Offline: All offline applications must reach the "Controller of Examinations, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069" either by hand or by, Post/Speed Post or by Courier, on or before the 11th October, 2010.
Candidate should note that applications will be received by hand only one at a time at the designated counter(s) and not in bulk, till 5 PM only.
However, in respect of candidates residing abroad or in certain remote areas specified in Para 6 of this Notice the last date for receipt of applications by Post/Speed Post only (not by Hand or by Courier) is 18th October, 2010.
In case of any guidance/information/clarification regarding their applications, candidature etc. candidates can contact UPSC's Facilitation Counter near gate 'C of its campus in person or over Telephone No. 011-23385271/011-23381125/011-23098543 on working days between 10.00 hrs and 17.00 hrs.
About UPSC
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is a constitutional body in India authorized to conduct examinations for appointment to the various Civil Services of India. The Indian Constitution (Part XIV - Services Under the Union and the states - article no. 315 to 323) provides for a Public Service Commission for the union and a Public Service Commission for each state.
Recruitment Rules
In accordance with the provisions contained in Article 320 of the Constitution read with the provisions of Union Public Service Commission (Exemption from Consultation) Regulations 1958, Recruitment Rules of all Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B" posts in various Ministries/Departments of Government of India are required to be framed in Consultation with the Commission. Consultation with the Commission is also necessary for framing/amending Recruitment Rules for certain categories of posts under the Employees State Insurance Corporation, The Delhi Municipal Corporation, The New Delhi Municipal Council, Employees Provident Fund Organisation etc. under the relevant Acts made by Parliament in pursuance of the provisions of Article 321.
Mode of Fee Payment
The fees for the recruitment process is collected in the form of CRF (Central Recruitment Fee Stamp). For the service examinations, the fee is Rs.100 and for direct recruitment, the fee is Rs.50.
