Karnataka CET Entrance Exam Dates Application Form Eligibility

Common Entrance Test (CET), Karnataka   

Common Entrance Test (CET) is organized each year by Karnataka Government o give admissions in Medical and Engineering colleges. The first ever exam was held way back in the year 1984. The CET Cell accomplishes seat selection process of government seats to admissions for 1st year Engineering, Medical, Dental, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Yoga, Unani, and Architecture courses. As from year 2008, ‘CET Karnataka’ will be recognized as KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority). KEA will perform all exams for Education department in Karnataka.

The Government has decided to eliminate CET for Ayurveda, Dental, Homeopathy and Unani courses in the January 2009 from the academic year 2008-09. 

Candidates who have got admission from any particular discipline via CET Cell in past years won’t be qualified for seat selection in same discipline in the year 2005. State government has decided not to organize this test for non-Karnataka students. Karnataka students residing outside state may obtain application form and brochure through Speed Post via sending one self-addressed envelope, having size of 25 cm x 30 cm along with Rs 650 Demand Draft. 

Cost of CET application form and brochure is Rs 550 for GM, 2A, 3A, 2B and 3B class students, with Rs 400 for SC, ST category students. The Demand Draft must be favoring to the Executive director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore and to be paid at Bangalore. Students need to submit demand drafts to schools and colleges associated.

The CET Karnataka seems to become better and bigger than its predecessors. 

Every answer page will be uploaded at CET website so that students can verify their answer against these key answers. 

CET Karnataka had biometric identification to each student for every stage during the test. All candidates need to compulsory fix their thumb impression of left hand in the CET application form as well as on OMR answer sheets for all subjects.
