AFMC (Armed Forces Medical College) is the leading institute of medical education in India. AFMC is run by the Indian armed forces. Students doing MBBS through this college are likely to serve minimum of 7 years in armed forces. The graduate section was started in 1962 and Nursing College was started in 1964. Armed Force Medical College was set up in the 1948 in Pune. MBBS program was begun in the year 1962 for concerned students. Medical college is allied with Maharashtra University of Health Science. After completing MBBS through this college, candidates may be assured to get service in medical department of armed forces.

Eligibility criteria

The candidate should have minimum of 17 years age and maximum of 22 years. Besides the candidate must be single and can’t marry during course. Also the candidate must be physically fit along with specified standards. Candidates must pass all subjects with 1st attempt to qualify the exam and must have held minimum 60% in total in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) with minimum of 50% in every subject separately and also in the English.

Selection Method 

Candidates need to give the written test first. Syllabus of written test should be just like 11th and 12th Syllabus. Those who successfully pass the written test, will be named for interviews as well as medical test in the later stage.
