Applications are invited for admission to the following course of the institute:

Post-Graduate Diploma in Statistical Methods with Applications

This is a full-time course of one-year duration, and is offered at the newly opened North-East centre of the institute at Tezpur, Assam. Applicants must have a 3-year Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects at the undergraduate level. B. Tech. and B.E. degree holders are also eligible to apply. Selection is based on academic record and performance in written test(s) and interview. There is no course fee. Hostel facilities are available.

Due consideration is given to SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged candidates. Candidates who are due to complete the qualifying examinations before 01 July 2011 may also apply. Request for application forms should have mailing address in CAPITALS.

Postal orders, Money orders and Cheques will not be accepted. Incomplete/Improper Application Forms will be rejected.

About ISI Kolkata

Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is an institute and university in Kolkata's norther outskirt of Baranagar, India founded by Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis in 1931. It is one of the oldest institutions focused on Statistics, and its early reputation led it to being adopted as a model for the first US institute of statistics set up at the Research Triangle, North Carolina by Gertrude Mary Cox[1]. Its activities are research, teaching, and practise of statistics to the natural sciences and social sciences. Originally affiliated with the University of Calcutta, the institute was declared an Institute of National Importance in 1959.
