The Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), is a premier autonomous institution in India for public administration studies and one of the major social science resources in India. Situated in New Delhi, India, it was inaugurated on March 29, 1954 by the first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. The IIPA is an autonomous body under the Registration of Societies Act. Its establishment was an outcome of a survey of public administration in the country carried out in 1953 by Dean Paul H. Appleby (Other Reference),[1] the renowned Professor of Public Administration and consultant to Ford Foundation.
