Recruitment of Company Secretary in SMG Scale V under Specialist
category or on Contractual Appointment - 2010

COMPANY PROFILE
Central Bank of India, a leading Public Sector Bank, with Pan India Branch Network of more than 3564 branches, with total business of more than 262120 Crores and driven by talented work force of 34000 + employees, is looking for a Professionally Qualified and Talented Company Secretary in Senior Management Grade Scale V under Specialist Category or Appointment on Contractual basis.

The details are given below:


1. The age, qualification and experience (As on 31.07.2010) for the above post is prescribed as under:

1) Secretary in SMG Scale V/ Contractual Appointment

Age: Not exceeding 45 years

Qualification: First class graduate with ACS from Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of post qualification experience of working as a company secretary in a Public sector
undertaking or reputed corporate body.

2. Scales of Pay:
The candidate shall be appointed on regular basis in SMG Scale V and the Scale of Pay for which is Rs. 36,200-1000/2-1100/2. The total emoluments at the start of the Scale shall be Rs. 54,000/- approx. + usual perks & benefits at Mumbai.
The candidate shall also have the option to opt for Contractual Appointment for minimum period of three years on lumpsum payment as under:
Fixed Compensation- Rs. 8 Lakhs p.a. &
Variable Compensation- Rs.3 Lakhs p.a.

3. SELECTION PROCEDURE
The eligible candidates will be called for personal interview and the decision of the bank in this regard shall be final.

4. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION
Eligible candidates have to submit their applications in the given format (Annexure A).

5. APPLICATION FEE
Application fee is Rs.1000/- payable by way of Draft drawn on any Nationalised/Scheduled Bank drawn in favour of “Central Bank of India- Recruitment of Company Secretary” and payable at Mumbai

6. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

a) While applying for the posts, the applicant should ensure that he / she fulfills the eligibility and other norms mentioned above and that the particulars furnished are correct in all respects. In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and / or that he / she has furnished any incorrect / false information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his / her candidature will automatically stand cancelled. If any of the above shortcoming(s) is / are detected even after appointment, his / her services are liable to be terminated without any notice.

b) In case of suitable and deserving cases, any of the requirements and conditions of eligibility mentioned above, may be relaxed at the discretion of the Management. The Management reserves the right to fill or not to fill the above advertised position without assigning any reason thereof.

c) Mere submission of application against the advertisement and apparently fulfilling the criteria as prescribed in the advertisement would not bestow on him / her right to be called
for interview.

d) Candidates serving in Government/Public Sector Undertakings (including banks) should send their application through proper channel and produce a "No Objection Certificate" from their employer at the time of interview in the absence of which their Candidature may not be considered.

Mr S Sridhar has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of state-run Central Bank of India as on 2 March 2009. The post had been lying vacant and the appointment was cleared by the government yesterday, the Bank said in a statement. To improve the Bank's capital adequacy ratio and enable it to support the credit requirements of the productive sectors of the economy, the Centre has recently decided to infuse Rs 1,400 crore in the Bank. Under the proposed capital infusion plan, Central Bank of India will get Rs 700 crore by this month-end, while the balance amount will be made available to the Bank in next fiscal.
