INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES
1) Reporting for admission :
All candidates should report at 9:30 A.M in respective department for the admission on the date mentioned in the schedule.
2) Mark sheets certificates to be produced :
All candidates should produce following documents in original for verification at the time of admission.
• Pre final – V and VI semester Mark sheets
• Final year qualifying examination – VII and VIII semester Mark sheets. For candidates whose final year qualifying examination results yet to be declared should produce a letter from the Head of the Institute that he/she has appeared in full of the final year examination. For such candidates the offered admission will be provisional. The said admission will be confirmed only when the candidates submit the passing certificate and the mark sheet of the qualified degree examination.
• Certificate of Indian Nationality.
• GATE Score Card (For GATE candidates)
The candidate who has secured admission elsewhere should produce the letter from the concern Head of the Institute or paid fees receipt. If admission is offered the candidate should submit the original GATE Score card to the respective department on or before July 12 2010.
• Caste certificate and Caste validity Certificate (For Reserved Categories)
• Sponsorship Letter from the sponsor. (For Sponsored candidates).
• Two passport size photographs.
• Character certificate from the previous institute attended.
3) Mode of Payment of fees :
• Demand Draft in favour of “Director VJTI Mumbai-400 019.”
• The candidates interested in taking admission under self supporting program should bring two demand drafts
- Rs. 23515/- and Rs. 25000/- for GATE candidates.
- Rs. 28515/- and Rs. 20000/- for Non GATE candidates.
- Rs. 38415/- and Rs. 10100/- for Sponsored candidates.
• If the admission is offered the total fees should be paid on the same day. If the candidate fails to pay the fees on the same day the offer of admission stands withdrawn.

The Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute was given its present title on January 26, 1997. Founded in 1887, it was then known as Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute.
The institute is reputed for excellent training in courses in engineering and technology at diploma and, degree and post graduate levels over three thousand students. Over twenty seven courses are offered at the undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, postgraduate diploma and post diploma levels.
The institute was granted financial and academic autonomy from June 21, 2004. As a result, the autonomous VJTI has implemented the revised syllabus for the students in June 2004 at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels by implementing much valued credit system. The revised scheme of examinations, which follows a grading system and letter grade point system has been implemented. An important part of curriculum is the practically oriented project at the final year of graduation and the dissertations offered by the postgraduate students, as also the in-plant training undergone by the Third Year Diploma students. source: http://way2freshers.com/
