The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is an autonomous agency of the Government of India, responsible for management of a network of over 60,000 km of National Highways in India. The Authority is a nodal agency of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Projects

The NHAI has the mandate to implement the National Highway Development Project (NHDP). The NHDP is under implementation in Phases.

Phase I: Approved in December 2000, at an estimated cost of INR 300 Billion, it included the Golden Quadrilateral (GQ), portions of the NS-EW Corridors, and connecitivity of major ports to National Highways.

Phase II: Approved in December 2003, at an estimated cost of INR 343 Billion, it included the completion of the NS-EW corridors and another 486 km (302 mi) of highways.

Phase IIIA: This phase was approved in March 2005, at an estimated cost of INR 222 Billion, it includes an upgrade to 4-lanes of 4,035 km (2,507 mi)of National Highways.

Phase IIIB: This was approved in April 2006, at an estimated cost of INR 543 Billion, it includes an upgrade to 4-lanes of 8,074 km (5,017 mi) of National Highways.

Phase V: Approved in October 2006, it includes upgrades to 6-lanes for 6,500 km (4,000 mi), of which 5,700 km (3,500 mi) is on the GQ. This phase is entirely on a DBFO basis.

Phase VI: This phase, approved in November 2006, will develop 1,000 km (620 mi) of expressways at an estimated cost of INR 167 Billion.

Phase VII: This phase, approved in December 2007, will develop ring-roads, bypasses and flyovers to avoid traffic bottlenecks on selected stretches at a cost of INR 167 Billion.

APPOINTMENT OF FINANCE DIRECTOR

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited, a joint venture of Government of India and Government of Karnataka is entrusted with the responsibility of implementing the Bangalore Metro Rail Project. The project envisages establishing a Metro Rail system at an estimated cost of ` 11609 crores, with two corridors of 42.3 kms. stretch . As on 31.3.2011 the project has achieved 38.6 % physical progress and ` 4200 cr financial progress. Commercial operation in respect of Reach – 1 i.e. Byappanahalli to M.G.Road is likely to commence in June 2011. The Company wishes to appoint Director (Finance) in the Finance discipline. The Director will be a Member on the Board of Directors of the Company and will report to the Managing Director.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

He / She will be responsible for all Finance and Accounts functions including but not limited to the following :

• Overall supervision of the finance and accounts functions

• Fund management ( receipts, payments, cash and bank transactions, cash and fund flow etc) including ensuring that the financial resources are secured and funds deployed efficiently and effectively

• Ensuring Financial Reporting including P & L , Balance Sheet etc. duly audited by Internal Audit / Statutory Audit.

• Project-related financial planning, follow up with funding agencies, submission of compliance, narrative reports and MIS

• Coordination with Government of Karnataka, Government of India, Financial Institutions in India and overseas.

• Putting in place “Finance Manual”

• Overseeing installation of ERP packages in respect of Modules relating to Finance and Accounts

• Improving and implementing a comprehensive financial management plan that will ensure an efficient, effective and sustainable programme consistent with Project Policies

• Providing operational oversight from finance / accounts angle for the overall Project implementation

• Coordinating the consolidation of the annual, short and long term financial plans, budgets, forecasts, prepare, analyse and report the results to the Management.

• Optimising deployment and ensuring adequacy of financial resources during the implementation of the Project

• Appraisal of financial risks and remedial actions

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

For Direct Recruitment

Should be a Graduate and Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India /Institute of Costs and Works Accounts of India / Institute of Company Secretaries of India / MBA with specialization in Finance from IIMs. At least 25 years postqualification experience in Project Finance / Finance / Accounting / Audit / setting up Financial, Accounting and Audit systems and procedures in a large public or private sector organization of repute with a turnover of not less than ` 2500 cr. p.a. of which should include at least 7 years at the level of General Manager / Group General Manager or equivalent and 3 years at Director’s level. Should have worked in a computerized environment and should have adequate knowledge to handle financial management softwares.

He / She should be well versed with the accounting standards including GAP, latest developments in tax and financial areas like IFRA etc., funds management, raising of funds, tender processes, contract terms and conditions and should be in a position to handle the latest computer softwares relating to financial and accounts management. Should have proven ability to handle related functions independently.

For deputation

Members of IAS , IA & AS , IRS and Group ‘A’ Accounts Services of Government of India (comprising of IRAS, IDAS, ICAS and P&T, FAS etc) with 20 years experience shall be eligible for applying to the post.

The candidate should have experience in Project Finance / Finance / Accounting / Audit / setting up Financial, Accounting and Audit systems and procedures in a large public sector organization of repute. Should have worked in a computerized environment and should have adequate knowledge of financial management, taxation, accounting issues and ability to manage and raise funds, tender processes, contract terms and conditions and computer softwares relating to financial and accounts management .

Should have proven ability to handle related functions independently.

Later, in 1994, the Bangalore Mass Rapid Transit Limited (BMRTL) was incorporated by the State Government to implement the mass rapid transit system. BMRTL in turn asked the IL&FS to carry out a feasibility study for LRT System on Public-Private Partnership. However, though the partner was selected, the project did not take off. Later, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in partnership with RITES prepared a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Bangalore Metro Rail, Phase I in 2003 at the instance of the Government. It proposed two double line corridors: East-West (EW) and North-South (NS) with a total length of 33 km.

1) Assistant Manager ( E-2)

Eligibility Criteria : 

(Educational Qualification & Post qualification working Experience (As on 01.04.2011))

Essential:

Regular Master degree in Tourism Management or Administration/MTM / 2 years regular Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism Management from a UGC/AICTE recognized University/Institute. Working Knowledge of MS-Office is essential.

Desirable: Certificate or Diploma in Tourism or Hospitality courses from International professional organization such as IATA/**UFTAA would be preferred.

Experience :

A minimum of 4 years of post qualification experience out of which at least 2 years in executive cadre in a PSU or reputed travel and tourism organization, in operation marketing and management. No part of teaching experience would qualify for the above stipulated experience requirements.

Candidates from private sector having a minimum CTC of Rs.4 lakhs per annum will be eligible for applying.

Consolidated Pay : Rs.50000/- consolidated pay + Incentives

2) Executive (E-0)

Eligibility Criteria : 

Essential: Regular Bachelors degree in Tourism Studies or Tourism Management, from a UGC/AICTE recognized University/Institute. Working knowledge of (MS-Office) essential.

Desirable:

Knowledge of a foreign language.

Experience :

Minimum 3 years post qualification work experience in a PSU or reputed travel and tourism organization, in operations/marketing. Candidates from private sector having a minimum CTC of Rs.2.5 lakhs per annum will be eligible for applying.

Consolidated Pay : Rs.30000/- consolidated pay + Incentives

3) Sr. Supervisor (S-3)

Total Number of posts : 27(unreserved: 15, OBC:7, SC:4, ST:1)

Place of Posting : Major Cities

Type of appointment : On Contract Basis

Max. Age Limit (as on 01.04.201 1) : 28

Eligibility Criteria : 

Essential: Bachelors in any stream with 1 year regular Diploma in Travel and Tourism from a UGC/ AICTE recognized University/Institute/ International Professional Organizations such as *IATA/**UFTAA. Working knowledge of MS-Office is essential.

Experience : One year working experience in a PSU or reputed travel and Tourism organization in operations and marketing.

Candidates from private sector having a minimum CTC of Rs.1.5 lakhs per annum will be eligible for applying.

Consolidated Pay : Rs.25000/- consolidated pay + Incentives

SELECTION PROCESS:

Selection will be based on Written Test followed by interview for the short listed candidates who qualify in the written test. The Written Test will be held at 1) Chennai, 2) Delhi, 3) Hyderabad, 4) Kolkata and 5) Mumbai and will comprise of 200 objective type questions for three hours duration with negative marking for wrong answers. Written test will comprise of two parts; Part-I will have 100 question having questions on General Awareness, Reasoning, Numerical Ability and proficiency in English language and Part- II will have 100 questions to adjudge the professional ability of the concerned discipline. Candidates have to qualify both in written test and interview separately to be placed in merit list for selection. The interview will be held at New Delhi.

The candidates are to note that the option of the centre once exercised cannot be changed. However, in the event of not holding the examination in a particular city, due to administrative reasons, the examination center may be allotted in some other city and a candidate will have to appear for the Written Examination at the Centre/ City finally allocated by the Corporation.

Online submission of the applications will be allowed on the website between 2nd May 2011 to 23rd May 2011. No other means/mode of application shall be accepted.

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is a subsidiary of the Indian Railways that handles the catering, tourism and online ticketing operations of the railways.

IRCTC is in charge of catering services on trains and railway stations across India. Depending on the distance covered by the train and average passenger load factor, the railways either equips trains with their own pantry cars or provides meals at select stations en route.

IRCTC is better known for changing the face of railway ticketing in India. It pioneered Internet-based rail ticket booking through its website, as well as from mobile phones via GPRS or SMS.
