Engagement of Financial Service Executives

Approximately 101 Financial Services Executives are proposed to be engaged by various Offices of the Corporation on Contract basis for 3 years under the jurisdiction of Northern Zonal Office, New Delhi

JOB REQUIREMENT

It is primarily a Marketing job. The FSE’s shall be directly responsible for Procuring New Business, Providing Policy Servicing and related jobs from the bank branches / other outlets allotted to them. They shall also carry out any other instructions given to them from time to time. For this purpose considerable movements including tours covering entire area allotted to them are involved.

Eligibilty Conditions:

a) Qualification:

Applicant shall possess the Bachelor’s Degree of a University in India established under a statute.

Preference may be given to those applicants who possess the Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Marketing /Management. Good knowledge of English and also one Regional language preferably local language is desirable. Knowledge of soft skills such as Power Point / Word / Excel would be additional advantage.

b) Age: (i) The applicant shall have completed 21 years of age and not more than 35 years of age as on 01.06.2010.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Selection will be made on the basis of a written test if necessary, followed by an Interview of candidates who qualify in the written test. Written Test will be of Objective Type covering Test of Reasoning, Numerical Ability and General Knowledge. The date and venue of the written test, if to be conducted, will be communicated to the eligible candidates individually.

The selected candidates may be allotted anywhere during the period of engagement based on business requirements.

The selected candidate will have to undergo Theoretical Training, pass an examination conducted by the IRDA and obtain a license to procure Life Insurance Business. After procuring the license, if the candidate is found suitable for selection in accordance with the scheme, may be engaged as a Financial Services Executive on Contract basis subject to conditions framed by the Corporation.

A Financial Services Executive will be paid a fixed amount every month and incentives based on the yearly performance.

It is clarified that selection as a Financial Services Executive does not confer any right on the candidate to be appointed as a Permanent employee in the Corporation.

Interview: Candidates successful in the written test (if conducted) or eligible candidates will be called for an Interview. The Corporation reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for written test and/or interview commensurate with number of Financial Service Executives to be engaged and the decision of the Corporation in this regard shall be final. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Selected candidates will be engaged as Financial Services Executives subject to their being found medically fit by the Medical Examiner authorized by the LIC for the purpose.

HOW TO APPLY

Candidates satisfying the conditions of eligibility as on 1st June 2010, shall submit their Application in the format given below which shall be either hand-written in bold capitals or typewritten on foolscap size paper only. The Application should be properly signed. The following shall accompany the Application:

1. Demand Draft of Rs 100/- drawn in favour of LIC of India payable at (Divisional Office Headquarters) towards application fees.

2. Attested Photocopy of Caste Certificate in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates.

3. Attested Photocopy of Qualification Certificate and Age Proof.

4. Attested Photocopy of Discharge Certificate in respect of Ex-servicemen.

The candidates are advised to keep ready with them the originals and a set of attested photocopies of each of the certificates listed at item numbers 2,3 & 4 above for verification at the time of Interview if they qualify in the written test.

For all candidates (other than SC/ST category): Rs.100. The Application Fee shall be paid by Demand Draft only (valid for six months), favouring “Life Insurance Corporation of India” and payable at the Divisional Headquarter (where the candidate wishes to apply & send his application)….. Approximately 1120 Direct Sales Executives are proposed to be engaged by various Offices of the Corporation purely on Contract basis for 3 years under the jurisdiction of Eastern Zonal Office. The number of engagements may be changed during the selection process depending on the requirements of the office.

a) Qualification:

c) The selected candidates subject to their being found medically fit by the Medical Examiner authorized by LIC for the purpose will have to undergo Theoretical training and pass IRDA licensing test for obtaining a license to procure Life Insurance Business within a maximum period of three months in maximum three attempts, following which he may be engaged as an apprentice Direct Sales Executive.

d) As an apprenticeship DSE, the candidate shall have to undergo insurance related training and pass a test on the same. The apprentice DSE shall be paid a fixed onetime stipend of Rs 3500/‐ (Rs. Three thousand five hundred only) as per rules of the Scheme.

e) On successful completion of the apprenticeship and passing the test, the candidate shall be engaged as a Direct Sales Executive purely on contract basis subject to conditions framed by the Corporation.

f) The selected candidate will be allotted specific area of operation during the period of engagement based on Business requirements.

g) It is clarified that selection as a Direct Sales Executive does not confer any right on the candidate to be appointed as an employee in the Corporation.

LIC had 5 zonal offices, 33 divisional offices and 212 branch offices, apart from its corporate office in the year 1956. Since life insurance contracts are long term contracts and during the currency of the policy it requires a variety of services need was felt in the later years to expand the operations and place a branch office at each district headquarter. Re-organization of LIC took place and large numbers of new branch offices were opened. As a result of re-organisation servicing functions were transferred to the branches, and branches were made accounting units. It worked wonders with the performance of the corporation. It may be seen that from about 200.00 crores of New Business in 1957 the corporation crossed 1000.00 crores only in the year 1969-70, and it took another 10 years for LIC to cross 2000.00 crore mark of new business. But with re-organisation happening in the early eighties, by 1985-86 LIC had already crossed 7000.00 crore Sum Assured on new policies.

3. Caste Certificate in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates is to be obtained from the following authorities:

i. District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate/ Collector / Deputy Commissioner / Deputy Collector / Sub-Divisional Magistrate / Taluka Magistrate / Executive Magistrate / Extra Assistant Commissioner (Not below the rank of First Class Stipendiary Magistrate)

ii. Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate / Presidency Magistrate

iii. Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar

iv. Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides

v. In so far as the Scheduled Tribes communities of Tamil Nadu are concerned, only the Certificate given by the Revenue Divisional Officer (instead of Tehsildar) would be accepted.

4. For claiming reservation under OBC category, candidate should belong to such Caste or Community, which is common to both the lists in respect of Mandal Commission and the State Govt.  Lists from the State of his/her origin (as per the list published by the Central Govt.)  The benefits of reservation shall not apply to persons/Sections belonging to “Creamy Layer” as specified vide Column 3 of the Schedule of the Department of Personnel and Training OM No.36012/22/93-Estt (SCT) dated 08.09.1993.  Candidates seeking reservation as OBC are required to submit a certificate regarding his/her “OBC status and Non-Creamy layer status” issued by an authority mentioned in the DOPT OM 36012/22/93 Estt (SCT) dt.15.11.1993.  Such candidates should also submit a declaration in addition to certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the following format:

Applications are invited from Outstanding Sportspersons (Indian Citizens only) for appointment in the cadre of Assistant under Sports Quota.

1.Vacancies:

Approx 75.

The vacancies are provisional and may vary according to the actual requirements of the Corporation.

2.Eligibility Conditions: As on 1st February 2011.

a)Age:

i) Age of the applicant should be between 18 years and 22 years for Track and Field Sports

Disciplines ie Athletics, Volleyball, Badminton and Table Tennis .

ii) Age of the applicant should be between 18 years and 25 years for Chess and Carrom Sports

Disciplines.

b)Educational Qualifications:

A Pass in HSC( Standard XII of 10+2+3 Pattern)

c)Sports Disciplines:

Athletics (Men/Women), Badminton (Men/Women), Carrom (Men/Women), Chess

(Men/Women), Table Tennis (Men/Women), Volleyball (Men Only).

Candidates should have achieved the following in any of the above sports disciplines.

SL Eligibility Criteria

1 Represented the country in International Tournaments/meets.

2 Has won a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal at the National tournaments/meets as a member of the State Team.

3 Won the State Championship or the All India Inter-University Championship.

How to apply:

Candidates satisfying the above eligibility conditions shall submit their Application in the format given below which shall be either handwritten in bold capitals or typewritten on A4 size paper only.

1. Application Form shall accompany the following;

a. Attested copies of 1) SSC Certificate issued by the Board showing date of birth. 

2) HSC Marks Sheet 3) HSC Certificate 4)Graduation Marks Sheet, if any 5)Graduation Certificate, if any 6) Self-addressed envelope of 23×12 cm size with Rs.5/- postage stamp duly affixed 7) Two recent, recognizable Passport size Colored photographs – One copy to be affixed on the application form & duly signed across and the other for official use .

b. Demand Draft for Rs.250/- as specified.

c. Attested copies of sports achievement certificates.

2. Last date for receipt of Application Forms will be 15th March 2011.

a) Original certificates should not be sent. Only copies attested by gazetted officer to be sent.

b) The Corporation takes no responsibility for any delay in receiving the Application Form or for loss in postal transit.

c) Application not in accordance with the prescribed form or incomplete/unsigned form or received without the prescribed Fees (wherever applicable) and the attested copies of the Certificates mentioned above shall not be considered.

d) Application Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances, nor will it be held in reserve for future recruitment.
