READER: [Ilmul Advia / Ilmul Saidla]: 01 –Deputation / Contractual Basis

Pay Band ` 15,600 – 39,100 with Grade Pay of ` 7,600/- Maximum Age: 50 years.

Essential: 1. Degree in Unani Medicine with 60% marks from a University established by Law or a statutory board / Faculty / Examining Body of Indian medicine included in II schedule of IMCC Act, 1970. 2. Post Graduate qualification in Unani Medicine in the concerned discipline from a recognized University established by Law or a statutory board / Faculty / Examining Body of Indian medicine included in II schedule of IMCC Act, 1970. 3. Teaching experience in a recognized Institution for five years. 4. Original published papers / books on the subject.

Desirable: 1. Atleast five years teaching experience in a PG Institution in the concerned subject. 2. Original published work in Unani. 3. Knowledge of Urdu and Hindi / English.

Deputation: From the post of Lecturers in the pay scale of Rs.8,000 – 13,500 (pre-revised) with 05 years teaching experience out of which atleast 03 years experience in a PG Institution in the concerned subject. Retired persons may also be considered provided they fulfill the prescribed qualification

Other conditions:

For the person on deputation the age should not exceed 56 years as on the closing date. The persons working in Central / State Govt. / UTs / PSUs / Statutory or Autonomous bodies should submit their applications through proper channel along with up-to-date duly certified CR Dossiers of the last five years along with disciplinary / vigilance clearance and a certificate that the particulars furnished by the officer are correct as per the record held in the office and no case is pending or contemplated against him / her may also be forwarded. RGUKT Educational Objectives

The primary objective of establishing RGUKT was to provide high quality educational opportunities for the aimed rural youth of Andhra Pradesh. The initial goal was that at least the top 1 % of the rural graduates would be given the opportunity to study at RGUKT.

The top 1% of rural graduates is around 6,000 to 7,000 per year. Thus, the three campuses would need residential accommodation for about 36,000 students for the six year integrated program.

At present, most universities in India and in Andhra Pradesh follow the affiliated college structure model where the main role of the university is to set the curriculum and conduct examinations to ensure that the students have indeed learned the material prescribed in the curriculum. Most colleges have an entering class of 100-300. Having an entry class of 6,000 students leads to issues of scale. This is unique to RGUKT and is being attempted for the first time in India. In the US, several of the larger universities do have enrollments of 20,000 to 30,000. However not all of them tend to be residential universities.
